Ottawa Senators sign ex-Northeastern University forward Ludwig Karlsson

The Senators have another Karlsson on their roster.

And if this one works out anywhere near as well as that Norris Trophy-winning guy on their blueline, the Senators have hit pay dirt.

Ludwig Karlsson, a forward who has spent the past two seasons with the NCAA Division I Northeastern University Huskies (with 34 points in 49 games), agreed to a two-year entry-level deal with the Senators Friday.

The 6-3, 200-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden, was limited to 17 games this past season due to a mid-season wrist injury that required surgery. Prior to enrolling at Northeastern, Karlsson played two seasons with the United States Hockey League's Green Bay Gamblers.

Karlsson was invited to attend the Nashville Predators annual development camp from July 9-13 after attending the Anaheim Ducks development camp a year ago.
