More than 60,000 people turned out for Toby Keith's benefit concert to help Oklahoma tornado victims.
The Oklahoma Twister relief concert sold out Saturday.
It was filled with words of encouragement from artist like music legend Garth Brooks. He told them "The healing process starts today."
The scene of destruction is still very fresh in the minds of many Oklahomans as they talked about what the damage left behind.
"I cried. That's all I could say is I cried. I cried for hours," said Norma Richardson who drove all the way from Houston to not only hear the hit songs but help rebuild Oklahoma.
"We're going to donate our money," she said. "We bought towels, blankets stuff like that."
Her friend, Janene Fisher, was nearly one of those victims in Carney.
"I didn't know what I was going to find when I came out of my shelter," Fisher said. "I was scared of losing everything."
Her home is still there but many of her neighbors weren't so lucky. It was the same in other areas like Moore, Shawnee and El Reno that were hit hard by the tornadoes. Some of the people in the audience carried on that same pain.
"They're all still living in tents and Red Cross is still helping them out and the community is doing everything they can to help each other out," said Fisher.
Toby Keith, Garth Brooks, Sammy Hagar and many other artists are hoping this benefit concert goes a long way to helping those victims recover.
"To lose everything like these people lost. It hurt. It hurt us deeply," said Richardson.
This is just one way they can all pitch in to help.
"Oklahoma, we take care of each other," said Fisher. "We've been through so much this year."
They stand strong, because they've been through it together.
Funds from this relief concert will go to the United Way of Central Oklahoma.
