Position Summary
Under general direction, the primary responsibility of this position will be to reconcile the payroll related general ledger balances and report to payroll management the status of each account on a monthly basis. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining a schedule of recurring monthly entries for each account and will prepare analytical reports to account stakeholders for resolution of reconciling account items. He/she will demonstrate general accounting knowledge and be able to handle all principal areas of expense, liabilities invoice and cash application.
Position Activities
- Analyzes debit/credit activity in Payroll related G/L accounts, including assembling and analyzing financial information. Responsible for contact with other departments, as needed, to communicate account issues.
- Recommends and maintains various internal controls over the assets and accounts of the Medical College including the review and approval of documentation and accuracy of various accounting records such as payroll posting transactions, journal entries and disbursements. Interacts with all levels of WCMC academic and non-academic staff regarding financial and internal control matters.
- Prepares a variety of monthly and special financial schedules and analysis such as a recurring monthly schedule detailing the reconciliation of the opening to closing balance for each account.
- Utilizes SAP to design and maintain subsidiary reports, etc.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Approximately two years' related experience
- Ability to analyze account data and communicate this analysis to effectively manage an account portfolio
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with different constituencies throughout the Medical College
- Advanced proficiency using Excel, including pivot tables and V-Lookup
- Ability to affectively use Microsoft Word
- Effective organizational and time management skills
