Clay Beads ? How To Sell Them

Many of us have been using clay beads regularly in our personal projects and hobbies. But after a while many people realize that if they are spending all this money and time on these little works of art then others must be doing the same thing. This prompts them to wonder if they themselves could begin to sell beads. I am here to tell you that if you are one of those people with this dream then I am here to tell you that this dream can become a reality. Due to the advances in technology and the rising demand in the realm of arts and crafts, having your own bead selling business is definitely a possibility. In this article I will show you how this dream of owning your own business is possible and just a few of the steps you will need to take to make this dream a reality.

1. Come up with an idea. ? This is where you decide which type of business you will run. You have already done this. You want to sell clay beads. I include this step though to give you the encouragement of knowing that you are already on your way. Since we are finished with this step though let?s not waste anytime and move on in this process.

2. Formulate a plan. ? This is where you actually begin to get to work and come up with the plan for how this business will work. You will need to think through things like a business name and a logo, but primarily right now you need to think about through what means you will sell your product. You really have three options. You can open a traditional store, you can open an online store, or you can travel around selling your product at various arts and crafts shows. All these options have their merits but I suggest doing a combination of the last two options. Opening an online business is cheaper than other options. Usually it costs around ten dollars. Then, if you go to arts and crafts shows you can still make connections with customers, make sales, and direct them back to your site in the future.

3. Put on the finishing touches. ? At this point I would get help unless you have a background in accounting. This is where you start to crunch numbers, figure out your expenses, start building inventory, and make sure you are paying taxes properly. There are a lot of great books on this topic and I suggest reading some of them, but at the end of the day it is best to get help at this point.

This is in no way an exhaustive list of steps about how to start a business, but that was not my intention. I just want to show you that selling clay beads on your own is possible and give you a few steps to get you started. All that is left now is for you to take that bold step and get to work.
