Willows Company Builds Rose Parade Float

The owners of a Northern California company will get a front row seat to the Rose Parade..
*Whitney-Stone Inc* , or 'W-S-I' in Willows was given the contract to build a float to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War..
It will be a replica of the memorial in Washington, DC.
The Department of Defense awarded the contract to W-S-I.., a general contracting and construction management service..
Dry decorations for the float have to be completed by December 28th. It will take three days to put on the fresh flowers. The judging is December 31st..
President and C-E-O Robert Stone says it was an unusual job, but they were honored to get the contract.
W-S-I teamed up with Phoenix Decorating, which is one of the largest float builders around..
The float is 21 feet tall , 55 feet long and 18 feet wide..
W-S-I has been in Willows for four years and employs about 20 people.
Clients have included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Forest Service and the General Services Administration. ###
